Sales and Account Representative – Specialty Coffees
 

 Position Overview

 A Madison WI-based solar powered coffee roaster is looking for a superstar who is excited about the sales process and           embraces the challenges it offers. You will need to be outgoing, confident in your abilities, driven to succeed and have a   demonstrated passion for helping customers build their business. You must possess good organizational skills and core   knowledge of office productivity software.

You will inherit a current portfolio of business and will   be expected to consistently add to that portfolio.
 

 Primary Activities and Responsibilities of Position

  • Conduct in-depth prospecting via telephone and in-house visits from an assigned  region using supplied prospecting lists and skilled networking
  • Continuously secure appointments to qualify prospects and determine if we can provide profitable solutions for their business
  • Work with marketing team to develop customized solutions that meet their current and future business needs
  • Present customized solutions, associated marketing support activities and business enhancement tools to qualified prospects
  • Maintain a base of highly satisfied customers by becoming a go-to resource for them
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge about our products, our programs, the coffee and food service industries
  • Gain a deeper penetration of product categories within customer base
  • Provide detailed weekly updates of activities and progress to management; maintain detailed activity logs of customer interactions
     

 Key Results for Position

  • Continuous growth of customer base within your assigned region
  • Ongoing management of existing customers in terms of revenue, profitability and efficiencies
  • Consistently identifying products and program enhancements that will improve contribution from customer base

  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Advanced active listening skills
  • Ability to work with a team when needed to develop customized solutions
  • Knowledge and enjoyment of coffee
  • Experience within independent cafe and/or food service environments
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Previous sales experience is a plus but not required
     

 Work Environment

  • Primarily field-based position with office support
  • Local & regional travel
  • 4-6 overnight travel per month
